Jeremy S. Wasser, Ph.D.

Dr. Jeremy Wasser is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Wasser’s global classroom engages students with interdisciplinary pedagogy. Dr. Wasser creates a safe environment in which students’ growing understanding of unfamiliar cultural and psychological surroundings ignites their enthusiasm to learn new things. Simultaneously, the impact of coursework lessons is amplified. From January to July each year, Dr. Wasser serves as the program leader for two faculty-led study abroad programs in Germany. The programs led by Dr. Wasser focus on physiology and the history of medicine and provide future doctors, veterinarians, bioengineers, and biomedical researchers with a foundation in biomedical science and the medical humanities. Integrating physiological education with active learning and project-driven research, Dr. Wasser works with his students to solve real world problems in innovative and strategic ways. The active learning strategies implemented by Dr. Wasser utilize a performative teaching style informed by his professional training in opera and theatre to enhance student learning. Dr. Wasser has created several unique characters for lectures and tours in the history of medicine pertaining to specific historical sites.
