INTEGRATED KNOWLEDGE FROM DIVERSE DISCIPLINES

Academic Growth in the time of Coronavirus

The SARS-CoV-2 outbreak is not the first global epidemic (pandemic), nor is it likely to be the last. In the current situation education and academia face new challenges. Academic growth is put to the test by the precautions educators must take that prevent teaching under the ancient standard of assembling face-to-face. While the risk of infection from such practices in much of the world is still too high, technology is available to enhance learning in ways that may not have previously been considered by mainstream academia.

As an academic who lives and works on two continents, Dr. Wasser has acquired considerable experience and expertise over the years in online formats for the delivery of information and for the engagement of students. Dr. Wasser ensures that learners are not at a loss for self-actualization and participation in online educational formats.

Dr. Wasser’s online courses, webinars and presentations maintain a classroom experience full of discussion, questioning and debate. Learning online has more opportunity for customization, accommodating a variety of learning styles. Each learner’s path to understanding can be activated by the media and storytelling techniques used by Dr. Wasser. Applying scientific understanding of learning theory and listening activation, Dr. Wasser’s virtual teaching engages learners in a shared learning experience in which students can maintain their own learning preferences confidently in order to achieve optimum understanding of material.
